"The best damn band on the planet" - barbara knowles / tokyo star
the bears "live" consists of 14 hot performances by the legendary guitar-pop quartet culled from sold-out February 2002 concerts recorded in new york city, atlanta, cincinnati and asheville, NC, containing songs from their first two IRS discs as well as last years' award winning AAA top 30 release, "car caught fire",the bears hold nothing back in these incendiary live tracks.
adrian belew sets the performance bar ridiculously high for his longtime bandmates, and they erupt for the occasion, playing and singing so well the larry nager of the cincinnati enquirer wrote, "it's as if they were seperated at birth."

What a great band!!!
author: Moe BrownI was fortunate enough to be at the Asheville,N.C. show where three tracks from this disc were recorded.I saw The Bears in 1987 (the Rise and Shine tour),and again when the Psychodots served as Belew's solo band in 1994(the Here tour)This is the ultimate party band releasing the ultimate party album! The energy that the band displays on stage shows thru on this disc.I would suggest that anyone who enjoys having a good time should buy this album!!!
Masterful and compelling Power Pop
author: Spud_BoyBeautifully recorded live album from an important American band. Despite the between song outtakes (typical stage and crowd antics) this album delivers a lot of good music. Each song offers a glimpse at Belew's prog guitar work and all of the musicians revel in their delight at playing this music together.
Stunning
author: DragonI have never had the fortune to hear the bears live till now. All I can say is AMAZING and a stunning recording!
Holy cow!
author: Owen GwilliamAbsolutely amazing performance. Same great sound as the studio albums, but with more life, more power. Check out the guitar solo on 'Under The Volcano' ... An absolute must.
Every music lover should have a copy of this jewel in their collection...
author: GAlamoThe Bears prove to be excellent with this release. The sound quality, performance and artistry deserve a 10 star rating. The set list, which covers the band's history demonstrate the exquisite catalog of gems the bears own. Every music lover should have a copy of this jewel in their collection. "pop music is not dead" Ade Belew
Excellent ! Fantastic Recording ! Good Going, Guys !
author: Walt GriffinI am glad the Bears were bold enough to step out on their own without being under the control of a major record label telling them what to do and how to do it. This great live album, like "Car Caught Fire", is as good as it gets. I can't wait to hear their next project. Grrrrrrrreat Stuff !
