notes
Crossing the Line is a delicious blend of old school jazz and rhythm & blues
in a contemporary format that truly blurs the line between these genres.
Nicolas' love of all forms of music is evident in these rich and varied compositions. Songs penned by Nicolas as well as musical greats Jon Lucien, Bill Withers, and others reflect his disdain for musical boundaries and his deep passion for beautiful melodies.
This melding of musical styles makes for a delightful aural journey that is imminently satisfying on the dance floor or wherever smooth, romantic sound is desired...

PURE ECLECTIC!
author: Max SonDetermined the category of this CD? If yeah, you`re wrong anyway! If not, then you might really face the eclectic to come in! "CAN WE PRETEND" proves that like nothing else! ~Max~ (from KZ).

AWESOME!!! Touches the soul
author: Vickie T.This CD is one I can't stop playing. Every song touches the soul. You get several type of sounds and each one brings on a new mindset of where you would like to be or have been. There's no loosers on this CD. I like every song. I've tried to choose a favorite and I just can't make up my mind. I say pick up this CD, you will not be dissappointed.
Pure Class
author: Barry Towler ("The Lowdown", Soul Express)Nicolas Bearde, apart from being a talented actor is a highly talented and skilled vocalist and performer. This album from the Fall of 1998 is crammed with exquisitely composed and delivered adult soul, with poignant lyrics on society, racism, love, life and even the sadness of passing friends onto the other side of life. All topics elegently dealt with and I have to say that my favourites are the jazzy Can We Pretend, the evoking Crossing The Line, (And) It All Goes Round And Round - but the icing on the cake is Color Blind. This really is quality soul and then some, and this song cannot be beaten. This song, and this CD, was my firm favourite from 1998. AND it still sounds fresh today. But this is quality real Soul / RnB. What do we expect? An essential album.
