From Christmas Eve to Christmas Morn
author: TanyaI heard the "Michigan Christmas" song on the radio and had to find out the artist immediately. It brought tears to my eyes and made me miss my sister who used to live in Saginaw. I had to buy one for her and my dad too, since they traded their MI Christmas for AZ sun! The whole CD is fresh and delightfully different than traditional Christmas CD's. I love the jazz/blues sound and the originality. A must buy for your Christmas collection! All arrived promptly in excellent condition from CD Baby.

This song sums up the "REAL" Michigan Christmas aura!! And Mike McArdle is a true character in the song. Go 2008 Detroit Tigers!! Bring us a world series championship in 2008. That would be the best Chrismas gift since 1984!! GREAT SONG

From Christmas Eve to Christmas Morn
author: Denyse ClaytonBrian D'Arcy James' voice is like butter! This is a beautiful Christmas CD to have on while at home or travelling in the car. My favorite song is 'Michigan Christmas'. We are from Michigan and I bought 2 extra copies for my kids who are grown and live out of state.

Michigan Christmas is Wonderful
author: WendyThe CD is Great... I have a daughter in Colorado, and we're from Michigan so the Michigan song brought tears to both of us.. It's such a beautiful song... Thank you Brian...
Wonderful Music - Especially the New Songs - Santa...Tonight and Michigan Christ
author: K BeckmanThe songs on this CD are wonderful. They give Christmas the touch of jazz that brings it to life. The traditional songs are very lively. My favorites, though, are the 3 songs written by Mr. James: From Christmas Eve to Christmas Morn, Santa Claus is Coming Tonight and Michigan Christmas. I could listen to them all year 'round.
What a wonderful Christmas CD!
author: BarbaraGreat Christmas CD! Brian D'arcy James does a terrific rendition of Deck the Halls and Joy to the World. Very upbeat and jazzy. A refreshing twist on some of the classics. My favorite song though is Michigan Christmas. It gives me chills every time I listen to it. It's a great song about being with family for the holidays. This is my new favorite holiday CD!
Wonderful CD! Timeless Classic!
author: AshleyBrian's CD will play constantly in my home. I enjoy the music and it will definatley become a timeless classic!
A Blast From The Past!
author: ToddIf you don't already have it, stop the waiting! It's a great mix of classic songs with a new twist. Stylized like the old crooners with a new age punch. A real knockout!
old songs (except for one) with very nice arrangements!
author: nlbThe new song, Michigan Christmas, is especially pretty, particularly if you're from Michigan. The other songs are done very well - up beat and fun. You'll like it - buy it!
Great - a very good Christmas CD
author: TomI enjoyed the song selection, instrumentation and vocals. It has a lot of zip to it. Not just a rehash of the same old songs.
The CD was very good - very satisfied
The Chrsitmas songs were great. Brian has a beautiful voice.
Great original Christmas album
author: CarolynBrian's voice is great - I found myself thinking that even more orchestral backup could be added, and his voice can certainly support it. Feels sort of like sitting in at a nightclub act (gee, should have guessed from the CD cover!)
A great voice on some standards with three great new songs,
author: JMFBrian is one of my favorite performers. I love Michigan Christmas and his other new songs, and he is terrific on White Christmas. However, some of the selections are too jazzy if that's not your style.
A Real Original Christmas Record!
author: bhg1955Christmas records have become too generic and uninspired, with any top selling pop artist banging one out on summer vacation. From Christmas Eve to Christmas Morn actually sounds like the artist sat down and thought about how he feels about Christmas musically. None of the standards sound dull and the original songs are full of humor. Brian D'Arcy James actually knows how to sing and hopefully he will not be a stranger in the recording studio!
Fantastic music!
author: SueThis is now my favorite Christmas CD. Our family listens to it in the house, on the road, whenever we can. Our favorite song is, of course, Michigan Christmas! Having grown up on the Blvd, mentioned in the song, it has special meaning.
What a nice change from Jingle Bells!
author: KevinWe are truly enjoying this CD - as the wonderful Chrsitmas Season gets closer each day! We have seen all the shows Mr. d'Arcy has been in and we appreciate his talent!
I absolutely love this cd.
author: JenniferThis is now one of my favorite Christmas cd's. It gives you a taste of Broadway with the a fun holiday zing. This is one cd that will follow me everywhere this holiday season.

Mr James has never sounded better...I love this c.d. It is always nice to sprinkle in some new songs...but to include such wonderful holiday standards and pair them with such an incredibly pure voice is "music to my ears"...I couldn't pick just one, because it seemed to me that I was hearing some of these standards for the first time...original...I loved it
Mr. James is in great voice.
author: RickMr. James is in great voice and the arrangements compliment it well. The jazz flavor of some of these renditions give old standards a fresh sound. My only complaint is that the disc is too short, but this seems common among Christmas albums.
Great album
author: MichaelA great classic holiday album - fun, energetic arrangements and stellar vocals. My favorite is What Child Is This. The most beautiful version I've ever heard. A definite holiday favorite for a long time...
amazing first effort from Broadway star Brian d'Arcy James
author: KaiBrian d'Arcy James' first solo album is amazing! He has managed to jazz up and make completely new and innovative versions of a lot of holiday standards like "Deck the Halls" and "Joy to the World" (if you thought it wasn't possible to tap your feet to "Deck the Halls", think again!) and brings a heartbreaking sincerity to the ballads like "Silent Night" and "What Child Is This". But by far the strongest tracks on this record are Brian's originals, "From Christmas Eve to Christmas Morn", "Santa Claus is Coming Tonight" and "Michigan Christmas", which will warm your heart whether you're from Michigan or Massachusetts... cause we all "want to be home with our families" at Christmas! Brian's Broadway fans will be very surprised to hear a side of Brian they've never heard before... he does some amazing pop vocals and at times shades of Billy Joel's Innocent Man album shine through, both vocally and musically (particularly in "Santa Claus is Coming Tonight", one of Brian's new songs). Overall, a fantastic first album and THE Christmas album to buy this year!
