notes
This album reflects a part of Jai Ma Music’s live performances with its classic poetic offerings before each bhajan, all glorifying the Universal Mother. These ecstatic poems of Ramprasad translated with deep insight and loving care by Lex Hixon, features and introduces the great poet-saint of Bengal and devotee of the Divine Mother making this offering, together with the singing of Her name, complete and full of Her power.
"Once I played it, I stopped listening to anything else for the next year. It brought the sweetest devotion into my daily routine and inspired my spiritual studies." – L.A.G., Oregon
Namaste and Aloha,
Welcome to the celestial realm of Jai Ma Music, where music is God's voice and lyrics are the Universal Mother's Wisdom. Jai Ma Music’s extensive and multifaceted collection encompasses chanting, Hindu and Western devotional songs, Divine Mother poetry and instrumental albums, reverently blending the sacred sounds of East and West.
BABAJI BOB KINDLER: BIO
Babaji Bob Kindler began playing cello at the age of 11, in Portland, Oregon. By his late teens he was awarded scholarships to Tangelwood and studied under contemporary masters of symphonic music. Joining the Honolulu Symphony in 1970, he developed unique styles of playing folk instruments while learning to blend cello into diverse musical forms.
Simultaneous with his move to Hawaii, Babaji began an intensive study of Indian and Buddhist philosophy and engaged in yogic practices. This triple immersion in the sacred disciplines of music, philosophical enquiry, and meditative practices began to fructify with the creation of his first new age albums. Inspired by the great modern day saint, Sri Ramakrishna, and by his meetings with contemporary spiritual teachers, he founded Jai Ma Music in 1982. This musical expression, synthesized with sacred dance, poetry, and scripture, soon became a vehicle for tours and concerts across the United States.
In the early 1990's Babaji’s spiritual ministry through Jai Ma Music led to the founding of the SRV Associations. Babaji now devotes his time to teaching and writing of spiritual truths, while continuing to produce albums of palpable purity and world-class musicianship.

Six Stars!
author: RaganiI've been listening to this album since the 1980's, and it's one of my favorites. The music now reminds me of my days in the ashram with my guru, Swami Rama. Hauntingly beautiful... with the harmonies and great instrumentation... a beautiful westernization of kirtan chants.
