notes
Mix equal parts of Stockholm, New York and Nashville and you will find Baskery right there on the border between Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Johnny Cash.
Baskery is Greta, Stella and Sunniva Bondesson.
Three sisters born in the outskirts of Stockholm, with solid roots in the northern parts of Sweden.
Singing three part harmonies, playing acoustic guitar, six-stringed banjo, dobro and upright bass they create originals performed with a convincing recklessness together with their engineer/producer Lasse Mårtén (Blindside, Peter Bjorn and John, Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Sahara Hotnights, Shout Out Louds etc).
Recorded live in the studio, without any vocal editing or overdubs, their debut reveals the look, taste and smell of Baskery:
nothing will be hidden, nothing will be added...
Baskery share a philosophy with their label, Veranda Independent Records.
This philosophy is based on the belief that good music will find it´s own way to spread and survive as the music business, as we know it, is getting obsolete.
Veranda Independent Records is a bunch of crazy producers, engineers, musicians and graphic designers working together to make records that we, and hopefully a lot of other people out there, will love.
