Get ready to fall in love...
author: Carol KarstenApril Barrows is back, and her sound is still incredibly fresh. Her voice is swing with bling, more like golden honey bling, if you will. And the band, wow. In this age when bands can be replicated on 'puters, hearing a tight band is just incredibly cool. I have owned and played April's first CD, My Dream Is You, since I heard a cut while on a business trip to LA years ago. That CD has been played so endlessly, I am surprised I have not had to replace it. My dad, who grew up spinning 78s on a home-based radio station as a teen, introduced my brothers and me to swing music, so he was the very first person I had to have hear her music. Well, he broke into a big smile when I played the CD. I only just discovered April had a website, when I was listening to Sirius Sinatra and thought I heard a cover of a big band song that sounded like April was singing it. I googled her, and found her website, and that she had another CD. Oh, happy day! I hope more people discover April's music. This is pleasing-to-the-marrow music, the kind that boosts your day, puts a swing in your step and makes you believe that love really can make the world go 'round.
The Best Album You've Never Heard
author: Rob EplerThis is unbelievably good!!! Not very often do I hear something on the first listen and am totally blown away but this is it Folks. The songs are so fresh and they really capture that magical romantic feeling of a new love. April just melts my heart. Great stuff. I was going to list the best songs of the bunch but I can't. They're all fantastic! And since she wrote most of them, that's really saying something!!! Her voice is sweet and sunny and just makes you feel good. This is what great music is all about. It's such a pity that very few people have ever heard it.
A breath of fresh air!

How refreshing to hear this wonderful smooth 40's-ish type jazz in a world where most music has turned stale. If you like this CD you *must* get her other earlier release!
