BARRINGTON SCOTT HENDERSON

With a professional career that spans more than two decades, Barrington Scott Henderson aka "Bo" seemed destined for a career in song from his early youth. Born in Washington, PA, and raised in LA in a musical family, his first exposure to music would come from his mother Joyce, a jazz vocalist who has performed with many jazz greats, including "Miles Davis" and "Cannonball Adderly." Joyce came to realize that her son shared the same passion for music at an early age. By age five, he learned to play several different instruments. During his high school years, Bo formed his first group as he continued to perfect his singing, as well as developing his songwriting skills.

Bo's professional career began in the eighties, with an R&B group, the Dramatics. Later Bo joined Lakeside. He was featured on several albums, notably Lakeside's greatest hits "Power" and "Party Patrol" which featured a ballad single entitled "Bullseye." On a project with Phil Perry "One Heart, One Love" Bo's song entitled "I'm Sorry" was featured. In nineteen ninety-eight he joined the Temptations and debut on the album "Phoenix Rising" which went double platinum and featured him on lead vocals. The follow up album "Ear-Resistible" earned a Grammy and proved to be rewarding. The current album "Awesome" garners one of Bo's compositions entitled "My Baby." His future goals include writing, producing, working with various artists, and having his own label.

Let's see, he got rid of Ollie, Theo and then Barrington (I understand that I dont personally know what happened, but from the outside looking in, I think he should be fired) I still love though, Otis.     This CD begins strong but rapidly fades. Barrington musical talent has a great range, but this CD has many songs that sound the same. There is very little variation and after hearing five consecutive songs, it's difficult to keep from yawning. I know Barrington can give more. I just wish he had done it on this CD.

The music is very smooth with an "old school" feel that I think everybody Loves. "Right In Da Pocket" and "Ain't No Doubt About It" have funky beats that make you want to dance. "Step Back" has a jazzy feel to it with the saxophone. Barrington's version of "Sorry" a song he co-wrote on Phil Perry's "One Heart, One Love" will blow you away!!

    I've listened to the tracks available and have purchased a copy of the CD and after writing this review, I will go purchase another copy!! I absolutely love all the songs. They all have that sultry soul sound of Bo and it is quite evident a lot of labor was put into the making of this CD. You can follow along and relate to all the songs. The preciseness of Bo's voice is so out of this world!!! I know this CD is going to soar in sales. Perfection at its best!!!
