notes
Ok...Professionaly speaking, Im supposed to write this in 3rd person narrative. But I never was one for playing by the rules...so here we go.
My name is Wade McVey. People started calling me Barefoot Wade a few years back because I never wear shoes. People tend to remember me by either my music, my laugh (featured on track 1), and that I went over 3 years with out wearing shoes. So the nick name I was given seemed appropriate to use for a stage name. I broke that 3 year stretch when I signed up for a motorcycle riding class...anyhow..thats off subject.
This is my second album released independently and funded by me through the grace of Visa. If you would like to check out my first album, type in "Wade McVey" under the artist search on this website.
Yes, besides my regular website...I am on MYSPACE. www.mayspace.com/barefootwademusic.
Not to try and sound like Prince, But I recorded damn near every insturment on this album. I did get a little help from my friends on a few tracks, but most of it is me.
I'm a very diverse person, so obvisouly this is a really diverse album. Im kind of a "Hippie-Beach-Bum-Happy-Go-Lucky-College-Drop-Out guy with Outlaw Tenedency's".
I tried really hard to make every song sound different from the last song. After the intro, the album starts with a "funky feel good rock song", followed by an Evil Ex Country song, followed by a Reggae song that turns into a driving rock song with some killer lead guitar, Followed by a "down home in the delta" acoustic blues song, followed by a funny song about some of my silly theories in life, followed by a reggae song, followed by a funny country song...and i think you get my drift.
"Beaches, Bars, and Women" pretty much sums up the last few years of my life. I play about 200 bars a year, I spend alot of time hopping islands on the east coast.
And then theres the Women part: Ive had good relationships and bad relationships. Both spectrums are reflected on this album. In fact one particular "Evil Ex" is gonna be really pissed at me when she hears "Dont Call Me"(Everything is explained in that song as to why i hate her so much, so im not gonna explain it here). None of these songs are demeaning (i probably spelled that wrong) to the women gender. In fact last night, a woman told me that her favorite songs on the album are the "Screw you Evil Ex" songs because of her current ex-boyfriend situation...so that should cover any misconceptions there.
Besides...everyone likes an "Evil Ex" song cause everyone has at least one Evil Ex.
Providing your still reading and providing you care... Some of the insturments on this album include : Lots of Acoustic Electric and Bass Guitars, Steel Guitar, Steel Drums (also called Pan Drums), Lots of various percussion, and a couple other things im gonna let you hear on your own (I cant give away all my secrets).
Now if you are really still reading (cause your probably not), I'll even tell you a secret from this Album. There is a hidden track on here. Its more or less explained when you listen too it.
I cant think of anything else to say, so Im just gonna end here.
I hope you buy AND enjoy my album.
