Memories of Middle Earth
author: Bill PalmerVery soothing with a touch of the flair of Tolkien. Brings vivid immages of middle earth and its people. Quite enjoyable, a must have in your library of music.
Great Music
author: JocelynThis CD was great.
Louning for Middle Earth
author: KeltickittenI love the CD. Frankly I just stumbled on their website a couple of months ago, looking for something new as a celtic music lover. Since then I guess I sort of collected all their CD's still available. And I admit: I am not dissapointed. I can advice them to everybody that loves traditional music, but is sort of tired of hearing it copied all the time in the same way. These guys give it a nice, unique twist of it's own. Also great for Lord of the Rings fans!
Great music for people and hobbits
author: RachaelThis CD is the best I have heard in a long time. As a fan of "Celtic" music, it is hard to find something that goes off course from the traditional pub songs. Bring me a pipe and a goblet of mead.
Great DIsc
author: MattGreat disc. Highly recomend for all fans of Tolien and Ren Faire bands/music. The Gollum Blues is a hysterical song and the rest of the music on the disc will have you thinking you are listening to a Middle Earth Band.
really great cd
author: kurti really enjoyed this cd. being a great tolkien fan i almost felt as if i was in middle earth. i had heard a song or two on internet radio that's what inspired me to order the cd.
Evocative
author: Fred L.I've heard many attempts to capture the spirit of LOtR in music, but this strikes me as one of the best. It's simple, folk-like flavor seems far more appropriate than massive symphony orchestras or new-age crooners in conveying Tolkien's wonderful literary world. My only complaint is that some of the instrumental sections seemed a bit long and repetitive. But this is a quibble, and I suspect a non-issue for most. Recommended!
- author: Luc BAILLY
I love it. The duo has perfectly captured the mood of LOTR. What's sung in The Ring of Hope sounds so true... Also, real fun at the end with the Gollm blues, my precioussssss!!
Fantabulastical!
author: ChocolateThis is a great cd, it has good beat and the ones that have lyrics have good lyrics.
Wonderful music.
author: Evan McKenzieI love this, my kids love it, my wife loves it, and I think even our dog loves it.
This CD is awesome! I think it's awesome that it's 'bout Lord of the Rings!
author: ErinThis CD rocks! I really think it is cool that it's 'bout Lord of the Rings!
A Labor of Love
author: Whip Poor WillThis is plainly a labor of love and will speak to and delight any fan of the Lord of the Rings - or indeed to any fan of Celtic music. I wish there was a 3.5-star rating; This album's instrumentals are stirring and evocative of the high adventures and homely comforts of The LOtR. I can't rate it as highly as some others because the lyrics seem at times forced; the vocals themselves are, if anything, stronger than some on other Bards records. Overall it's a terrific album; it just seems a few songs could use some more development. May the hair on your toes never fall out!
haunting and beautiful
author: susan meadeasy to listen to and be transported into another realm.
A charming tribute to LoTR.
author: Cathy MosleyThis is a lovely tribute to Tolkien and LoTR, which I have heartily enjoyed listening to over again. The only aspect of it that jarred me (slightly) was the sameness of some of the rhythms of the vocal pieces.
Enchanting!...Wonderful!...and Peaceful!
author: Randall EdgeI loved the C.D. from the moment I first heared it. I sit in the light of candles, smoking my ChurchWarden style pipe, dream of blowing smoke rings with Bilbo,Gandalf and pondering the flight of men in todays time.
- author: Debbie Fernandez
Excellent CD!!! It's one I've enjoyed thoroughly and play over and over. I highly recommend it.
Beautifully Enchanting!
author: EmileeThis CD is loaded with instrumental magic! It is a pure joy to listen to anytime you need to be whisked away to another time and place!
A Pleasure to Listen To
author: Karen A.I love listening to the Memories of Middle Earth CD by those delightful Brobdingnagian Bards. I am spirited away to Middle Earth while listening to their warm and friendly music. Brings to mind evenings by the fireplace at the pub with the lads in the corner making music and bringing happiness to the world. I listen to it while reading about Middle Earth and Tolkien on the web. Very appropriate music.
Welcome back to the Shire!
author: Joan DrushelAn incredible musical interpretation of Tolkien from the beautiful instrumentals to the to clever and often humorous lyrics. A must for any "Lord of the Rings" fan as well as fans of simply good music.
Welcome to Middle Earth
author: AmandaThis C.D. is truely a masterpiece. Let the instrumentals work their magic of putting you into an unearthly trance or sing along to the up beat vocals. I fall in love with the music all over again every time I listen to the C.D.
It just sweeps me away!
author: SandyI love getting lost in Middle Earth and this album definitely assists me in this. The beautiful melodies take me away to another world, one that I can return to time and time again with just a click of a button.
Bards and Tolkien, perfect together!
author: Brian FlatleyMy favorite tracks are "Legolas", "Now it's time to go (Bilbo's Farewell)", and " Psychopathic, Chronic, Schizophrenic Gollum Blues", because they show off the lighter side of the "Lord of the Rings" fanatacism. All the songs are well arranged and executed and will remind you of the parts of the story that they are about. No self-respecting Tolkien fan should be without it!
Magical
author: Rie SheridanThis entirely original CD is one of their most balanced yet. No Tolkien fan should be without it. Even if you've never read or seen The Lord of the Rings, there is something for everyone on this magical album. Well worth the price.
Very nice instrumentals, with a mix sprightly hobbit jigs and expressively melod
author: JessicaThis CD expresses the differnt sentiments of middle earth very well, from hobbits to elves to ...well you get the idea. The music is great, with a nice mix of vocals and instrumentals, and in their typical style, they even manage to include some great comedy. The instrumental pieces in this CD are probably some of the best I've heard from the Bards, and overall it's a great quality CD.
rare
author: TIA KNIGHTWhat a rare journey...simply magical!!!
