Ain't Nothin' Like The Town," as the song echoed went crashing through the television sets of Oakland and the world during its long run on The Box Music Network (Now MTV2). The single from the EP, "Now What" sold thousands of copies in the San Francisco/Oakland Bay Area alone. Baby Ray had "The Town" on fire with a music video that was more popular than the Cash Money Millionaires in Oakland during its 1999-2000 run. Ain't Nothin' Like The Town became a certified Oakland classic with its depiction of life on the Ave. (Avenue)
Baby Ray's back with his new CD, "In Yo' Face," where his styles range from the Too Short inspired, "Internet Pimpin" to the techno laced track, "In Yo' Face". "This CD is more raw than "Now What?" " I got back to basics using live musicians and one of the Bay Area's phattest producers, Gran-Daddy Keez".
The first thing you will notice about my new CD, "In Yo'Face" is that the tracks aren't just beats. They're rap songs and melodies that a musician can play. We hired one of the best bass players in the San Francisco/Oakland Bay Area.. Uriah Duffy www.uriahduffy.com. I think using real musicians made my CD Phatter.
Baby Ray has toured the Midwest, California and Oregon. In 1997 he headlined at The Village Theatre, East St. Louis, Illinois. He has opened for another Bay Area artist Rappin' 4 Tay in Fresno, California. December 1999 Baby Ray was a featured artist at the Tupac Memorial Concert at the Berkeley Community Theatre. In 2001 he performed at the all African American stage at San Francisco's, "Soul In The City" before 50,000 fans. He has performed at several Bay Area clubs: Geoffrey's Inner Circle, The Fillmore West, The Sound Factory, and Ill Perata. He has also appeared on several cable television shows: Backstage Pass, HipHop Nation, Fokus TV, Musik Network, Higherground and CMC.
Baby Ray has been chronicled in The Source Magazine (May 2000), Showcase Magazine, San Francisco Examiner, Stage Coach Magazine, Xplosive Magazine and others.
StreetSmart Records will be shooting the music video for "In Yo' Face" this spring and a tour this summer.

author: Trey BrooksDope production dude. Definately got that westcoast flava. My favorite tracks are It's Real Out Here and Internet Pimpin'. Phat bass and sick production. Buy it you won't be disappointed.
Phat sounds. Old School Gansta style. This is car bumpin' music.
author: David C.I especially like the songs "In Yo' Face","It's Real Out There" and "Everything". The songs kept me interested and I found my head boobing in my car. The basslines are thumping and BR's rap flow is exceptional. A great CD coming out of the Bay Area.
