Avi & Celia are both 22-year-old native New Englanders and filled with spirit, vision, and ambition. Avi J. Salloway and Celia J. Woods-Smith were brought together while studying at the University of Vermont in 2003. Since then they have released their debut CD, Off the Floor. Their original album prompted famed Vermont music venue Higher Ground to award them Artist of the Month in March 2007. Avi & Celia have since toured the Eastern United States and California in celebration of their new record, including performances at legendary venues and festivals such as Club Passim, Higher Ground, and the Champlain Valley Folk Festival.
Open minded and full of enthusiasm, Avi & Celia are writing conscious material bound together by tight harmonies and the spirit of a musical revival.
