Enough Rope has been the musical collaboration of Randy Auxier and Jim Preble. Starting under the name "Say It Isn't S0" in 1996, the duo played widely in Central Oklahoma, changing its name to Enough Rope in 1997. While Auxier's relocation to Southern Illinois in 2000 curtailed active gigging, Auxier and Preble still collaborate and get together for public performances when schedules allow, especially in May and June, around the Kerrville, TX Folk Festival.
"Professional Dreamers" was released in December of 1999 and contains studio and live cuts of songs written by Preble and Auxier, along with songs written by Robert Hoyt and Danny Dolinger. The music is acoustic guitar driven but the studio cuts are enhanced with other supporting instruments. Auxier and Preble pay particular attention to creating sweet and interesting harmonies and to intricate vocal arrangments.
