austin may's debut, self-titled album is a stripped-down collection of songs written by austin, friends and past band mates and performed entirely by austin may. it's just the essentials; one track of acoustic guitar, bass, drums, and vocals. "home to me" stands out as the most catchy and pop-oriented tune while the six-plus-minute songs "s. bouquet" and "pacific tide" draw in and captivate the listener with some intense instrumental rock riffs and solid drumming. austin may is a strong debut album and fits nicely in the acoustic-alternative pop/rock subgenre.
