Originally from Switzerland, both Marc Dold and Judith Martin created Aurah as a musical journal of their quest to experience life’s alchemy.
As a producer, Dold has given both Enya and Celine Dion number one hits, has worked with Peter Gabriel, Cindy Lauper and many artist of the pop music world. He says of his experiences: “Some of the greatest leaps in music evolution have been made by artists like Gabriel, Sting and Pink Floyd who refuse to be pigeonholed.”
“They combined different styles and messages” says Martin. “Floyd created these incredible pop songs with a cathedral of sound. They really take you somewhere. And Sting could be spiritual but it didn’t override the quality of his music.”
As a stunning vocalist and producer, Judith Martin has lent her skills to numerous Television shows from Sex In The City to Queer Eye for A Straight Guy and more. She loves teaming up with other musicians whether it’s in the role of producing, writing lyrics or simply singing a melody.
After Aurah’s release SONGS OF THE ALCHEMIST Martin took pen and paper on the grassy knolls of Griffith Park and began writing what would become KISMET. “I thought it would be great to bring the music together with journal poetry and images.
The mediums share the reflective essence and rare quality of being both intimate and universal.” says Martin.
Their concert reflect simple breathing. The sound waves envelope the audience and create a space to be completely carried away. Using loop pedals and all sort of musical gages Aurah’s songs surrounded by luscious improvisations completely transports you.
Aurah has recently also finished the feature film score to 'Loving Annabelle', scheduled for release in fall 2006.

Sensual and Immersive Ambient Experience

Their latest offering entitled Kismet is a sensitive and immersive sound journey through the ethereal . You don't just put this CD in and listen . Rather , you put it on and let it slowly roll over you like the scent of an inscense stick . Aurah's music isn't hook oriented or lyric based . The impressions derived here are more subliminal . The melodies are subtle as are the rythmns. The combination of Marc's acoustic guitar and Judith's beautiful lilting voice along with the synth backings inspire a dream like experience rarely achieved in this Genre . Aurah certainly deserves more recognition for the wonderful work they are producing and I highly recommend Kismet to anyone seeking a truly meditative and relaxing yet inspiring musical experience .
