It's all real simple, see. For a time I used to sit in my room for days in the dark with a beat up classical guitar that I used to play non-stop. From there on in, I envisioned what it would be like to convert any kind of musical talent I had into a melodic disaster of voice over chord progressions, random tunings, irregular time signatures and a unique acoustic picking style that I assure you, you don't learn unless you've played guitar mostly in the dark.
From there, I wondered what it would be like to rip these songs out of my head and put them in .mp3 format. Over time, I developed the means necessary to record at my leisure in my own place. This is where Attach the Enemy began to take shape.
The idea behind Attach the Enemy is as simple as the projected musical sound. Through music, it became possible for me to do things the way I wanted them to go. It gives me the ability not to care if one song is completely different than the next (despite the fact that it all follows a similar theme).
What it means is subject to personal interpretation. There is no universal meaning but again, it does follow a similar theme. Personally, it’s a means for standing against the opposition for anything I’ve ever faced and for what’s to come. Attaching the enemy requires the confrontation of fear, the dignity to stand up against it and enough self-respect in between to control it. Furthermore, its implied visual aspect is to attach yourself before it attaches itself to you.
Attach the Enemy is the singular battalion necessary for me to convey everything I've ever wanted to say through music. In the very least, I hope you can appreciate its emotional artillery, that is, the essence of emotion infused with raw acoustics and vocals.
Now that Attach the Enemy is out there, it's out of my hands and I don't suspect that I'll ever run out of ammunition.
