notes

Sometimes I feel like everyone has a conversion story except me. I can remember certain moments of falling deeper in love with music - like trampling on Bach and Schubert in high school choir, or mom at the piano singing me to sleep - but there has never been a blinding flash of light that's come to reveal my musical destiny. A funny thing about callings: they're usually done in spite of one's self...and here I am.

I studied music in college because it seemed a "legitimate" way to dedicate my life to singing. I dropped out after six months. My guitar lessons only lasted four months. Even my very first taste of music was the result of being forced to audition for a singing group in high school. But the writing...the nights of cathartic passion with pen in one hand and guitar in the other. The way that music has allowed me to express myself has come dangerously close to redeeming all of my stubbornness. And there's something about being delivered that makes you want to preach...so I started touring and making records.

Everyone has gifts, and I might as well be lauded for my hair color as much as for my musical endeavors. It is my purpose, however, to express these gifts that they might awaken in someone a dialogue - between person and God, person and person, or person and self. In singing the stories I've been given, in finding and passing along my own unique breath in these words and musical notes, I intend to bring something to people that will stay with them longer and more intimately than the whistle of a familiar melody. In essence, I'm hoping that people will be positively affected by the color of my hair.

  • An emotional adventure worth taking!
    author: Todd Gilbert (Singer/songwriter)

This album towers above Gasoline Rainbow. It's an emotional adventure worth taking. It takes u up on highs and lows. It is an album i still spin in my CD player to this day. I can't wait for the next ALBUM. Love ya Ash! See ya soon!

  • Oft-ambient, oft-straight ahead guitar, a beautiful voice!!
    author: The Essential Indie List

Ash made the trek down to the Greater Cincinnati Area in early 2001. His weapon of choice is a 12-string acoustic. He plays a mean guitar, but what I feel separates Ash from the rest is his VOICE- very strong, very beautiful. Actually, one time while listening to U2's "Running to Stand Still" [Joshua Tree], I exclaimed (to myself while driving), "wow, Bono's voices sounds like Ash's..." It sort of slipped out that way, but I stick by the faux pas comment even now. Truly a sight to see and hear- a treasure in the singer-songwriter realm. His latest album, Trespass 491, marks a great production improvement over its predecessor... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

  • Music and Imagination Collide
    author: Robert Baumgart

Mr. Peacock's voice and the instrumentals are able to take the mind on a tour de force. This music seems to come from lands afar, where originality still grows the fruit of imagination. This music is able to paint a vivid portrait of memories and wishes living together within his perfect harmony. Mr. Peacock is truly a one-of-a-kind musician.

  • Ashley Peacock - A Visionary
author: Matthew Elkram - Dreamscene Records

Trespass 491 places gasoline rainbow afar from the talent of Ashley Peacock. Not only does the talent of this young man come out further, the expression toward each piece gives itself its own meaning. Knowing him as a friend, mentor, and also a great musician of our time, it is time the commercial music world and radio grasps the independant artist and gives us the credit we so deserve, unless you have a humble soul, that of this artist. Your Grammy awaits Mr. Peacock!
