notes
Artemis' husky, heavenly alto floats over dreamy organic soundscapes and smart, dynamic beats. Combining elements of trip-hop, drum and bass, breakbeat and poptronica, Artemis fuses a hybrid sound that can take you from a rocking club to a late night lounge and everywhere in between.
Breathing a rich dose of soul into the cool digital world, electronica artist Artemis brews up seductive sonic concoctions, deftly weaving poetry and pure emotion into psychoacoustic landscapes both otherworldly and pulsing with vivid organic life. With her roots in classical and folk music, training in vocal traditions from several corners of the globe, and an ear for innovation, Artemis puts electronic music's limitless spectrum to bold use. Her style ranges from sparse and sparkling to richly symphonic, blending elements of downtempo, triphop, drum and bass, breakbeats, and electro-pop to create a potent fusion set ablaze with siren vocals as riveting as they are intimate.
Artemis is joined by fellow founding members of bay area electronic artist collective RTFM for live performances featuring Artemis on vocals and flutes, David Earl on keyboards, Keith Crusher on programming and live effects, Daniel Berkman on handsonic percussion, kora, gravichord and atmospheric guitar, Rena Jones on cello and violin and Cliff Tune on V-Drums. The team has been orbiting the indie rock and electronic music scene together for several years, since their inception as collaborators in Omnicircus' robotic operatic ensemble Deus Machina. Bound by a passion for music and performance to transcend boundaries, the RTFM posse produce a truly unique and stunning aural and visual experience which breaks ground in live electronic music. With Artemis' sibylline lyrical vision and electrifying voice at the helm, and a crew of extraordinary musicians and sound designers welding an undeniable synergy, audiences are taken on an inspiring and unforgettable journey.

An essentil chill out album
author: Simon WheelerIf you like bands like Lamb,Hooverphonic or Portishead you will love this. Awesome deep trip hop beats with drum and bass making it a essential chill out album. A must have cd!
Superb, relaxing music.
author: Tim GleesonBeing a guy, I don't multitask well. All music, in the past, has just been a distraction. But I can play this cd on my computer while working on my computer. Unbelievable! It's totally relaxing with zero intrusion! Thanks for expanding my former reality!
Very beautiful voice and beats
author: Creating ParadiseI listened to the album these days and somehow I thought to Perfume Tree and Sarah McLachlan. The beautiful caressing voice and the melody of each song is unique and calming. Beautiful lyrics merged with the serene voice create an ambient feeling and relaxes you. I recommend this album to chill-out to and/or to fans of the artists mentioned above and to anyone who might want to listen to good music. Nice trip-hop.
Wow!
author: BrettArtemis is definitely the Queen of Trip-Hop/Downbeat. I bought this after explicit instructions from Dave (Dave's Lounge podcast). I have not been disappointed.
fantastic! an independent trip hop downtempo classic
author: mustard recordsi bought this CD after hearing about them on the brilliant podcast by Dave's Lounge. www.daveslounge.com {i cannot recommend the podcast enough} anyway, the CD is full of gorgeous beats and wonderful vocals. a couple of tracks could be removed but that's just me being super picky.
goosebump inducing
author: LindaliciousFabulous album! It had been a long time since I got goosebumps from listening to music. Artemis is an extremely talented artist, her vocals are right up there with Louise Rhodes of Lamb. Beautiful music.
This is really good!
author: fishYeah, gravity deserves another review! I didn't expect this album to be so good after the EP to be honest, I'm surprised. In my opinion this is one of the best electronica albums in 2005 so far! Give this a go! Yay! ;-)))
WOW
author: KeithI'm not a big fan of trip hop, but this is some beautiful music! When she sings, you can just feel all the emotion pouring out.
