Album Notes

The music of Arkestra Clandestina sounds like if Tito Puente, or Willie Bobo were to use avante garde experimental composition song structures, like those of Sonic Youth. Some songs are more traditional sounding latin jazz songs, others have more experimental elements, yet the band always uses traditional Afro-cuban drum rhythms. All these elements and influences make up the music of these Los Angeles natives. Furthermore this band knows the importance of performing in their community. And the musicians consider themselves a resource for any community organization or function that enriches the quality of life or raises consciousness. Arkestra Clandestina is the music you want, when you desire a complex poly rhythmic groove with a refreshing harmonic and melodic color.
