A Bit like pouring 1kg of orange Space Dust in your ears
Good sci-fi soundtrack
Very interesting sequencing with the chimes and xylophone in the beginning. I like the burbling keyboard line in the first minute. Actually, the keyboard programming and sequencing is clever throughout the track. It's easy for synth sounds to become lifeless in uncreative hands, but you don't have that problem. The rhythm section is very idiosyncratic - I always like hearing a different approach to rhythm besides the old boom-pap boom-boom-pap AC/DC stuff. All the arpeggiating synths and strange effects going on make sure there's never a dull moment.
After the quiet part around 5 minutes or so, it sounds like a completely different song. It's a little disorienting, and I kind of miss the first part. But maybe that's the direction you wanted to go.
It's hard for me to suggest improvements because I'm not sure what your intended purpose or audience is. I can't point to any flaws in the mix. This track sounds like it would work well in some kind of sci-fi movie or TV show.
Your sound reminds me of a cross between Danny Elfman and Isao Tomita, a Japanese synth programming genius who sequenced many classical works.
Other notes:
Change at about 3:35 seems to come out of nowhere.
I like the bass line at 4:30.

This is something that ive never heard before.
I wouldnt even categorize this as a "song". Its hard for me to figure out, how much of these sounds, that are played, and how much that are just programmed. Its a difficult and uncomfortable journey through strange rooms and spaces of synth-arppegios, unearthy sweeps, and generally wierd sound-landscapes.
Some of it sounds even classic orchestral, like its composed, arranged and scored by a welleducated musician.
For some reason, i cant keep from thinking of Frank Zappa.
Maybe its because this whole composition has a sort of built-in intellectual-distance to the listener. In the process of listening to this piece, you simple accept, that you dont get it.
I cannot judge if this is good or bad, and i cannot give any critics or advices, because it is so different from anything i know.

your ears as you listen to Arcticbeard's, distinctive audio compositions. AB's experimental
personality reaches out like a sad child exploring
this and that, picking things up, looking at them,
putting them back down, moving on to something else,
and sometimes coming back for a second look at a sound
or odd bit of music. Without giving you a technical
blow-by-blow of what each track sounds like from start
to finish, peculiar segue to peculiar segue, I can
only provide you the sketchiest of descriptions for
this music/audio construction. For said description,
see above. For reaction, keep reading. "The Circus of
Shit Contributions+" is capable of being both
meditative and unsettling. Meditative because it does
provide for a unique metaphysical listening
experience. Unsettling because ... well ... just
because. It isn't that it goes from quiet to some
really loud bit of strychnine audio strafing across
your ears (like Pink Floyd did to me on "Ummagumma",
the bastards ... I was trying to drift off to sleep to
that CD). It's just that there's a certain sense of
mental oddity that takes you to really strange places.
Of course, some of us like to go to really strange
places ...

author: codyi have never enjoyed music this much in a long time. not only does this guy know what sounds decent and what sounds shitty but he lets his lyrics set a tone of creepy hilarity
