notes
Appalachian Still is an acoustic four-piece band out of Northampton, Massachusetts. Playing a toe-tapping mix of Old-time, Americana, Folk, and Bluegrass, these New England boys have managed to create a unique sound that is distinctly their own yet remains rooted in the heart of Appalachia. Drawing from a repertoire of traditional Old-time fiddle tunes, original material, and some covers, the feeling they create is one of sitting on the front porch in the lazy days of summer, pickin’, grinnin’, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Their music is upbeat yet relaxed, sometimes rambling like an afternoon drive down a country dirt road, at other times, shaking the barn until even the mice are dancing.
Since forming in the Spring of 2005, Appalachian Still has already seen remarkable success typically associated with more mature bands, due in large part to their undying love of the music and ability to connect with their audience. After busking on the streets of Northampton and honing their chops together in local coffee shops and bars, they have graduated to the regional circuit, playing venues and festivals throughout the Greater New England area. Having proven themselves to be a bona fide force on the music scene, local TV and radio have taken notice. Their songs are now featured on several radio stations throughout New England and have been used by promoters in radio spots to promote summer festivals.
With each appearance, Appalachian Still’s very clean Old-Time sound builds a bridge back to the early 1900’s, bringing the listener back with them to days gone by when life was simpler, the people a little friendlier, and life is taken one day at a time. It’s all about the music.

Great Bluegrass Sound!
author: Pete from Hershey, PAVery much enjoyed this fine effort all the way through! Especially taken with "Mountain Calling Out My Name", "Tumbleweed", and "Red Mountain Wine". Mountain Music At It's Finest!
author: Mr. MixerWow what a great old time traveling tune! (Mountain Calling Out My Name). The acoustic guitar and frailing banjo really set it up from the get go. The lead vocal and the harmonies are well sung and authentic sounding. The addition of the mando at the solo really adds a lift and carries the song on home. Mountain music at it's finest.
