notes
Imagine a bright eyed and bushy tailed, yowling, George Jones stumbling into a world weary Leonard Coen on a gritty lower Manhatten back alley.
Mix the two with a little Steve Earl and you'll begin to conjure up a picture of the powerfull cocktail brewing between the deep groves of this digital odessey.
Backing up Hunts rythmn guitar is one of Manhattans finest all around multi-instrumentalists and producers Matt Smith.
He builds a lush, moody acoustic settings that range's from high lonesome bluegrass to dark Kurt Weill inspired mandolin laden ballads.
With the help of exposure through NPR's "Car Talk" which used the songs "Gear Head" and "Old Chevy" on three different programs and counting, the word of mouth on this little disc is spreading like a slow, hot fire across the country.
Hunt has packed this cd with enough tear jerkers for momma to flood the creek, enough humor to crack a smile on the face of youre smarmy kid sister, and enough automotive detail to make daddy raise his head out of Popular Mechanics.
Though based in Brooklyn, Hunt grew up in Iowa and the songs recall an imprint of a purely American experience.

well crafted and image laden songs
author: Bob AndersonGreat lyrics, pulls you right into the story. Not a song on this CD that I dont like. Arrangements are great.
Excellent stories, great voice, talented musicians! What else do you want?
author: pAris pAlI've been spinning Andy's CD since I found it in the mail. Listen to Old Chevy and its certain "je ne sais quoi" (in French!) as well as Reason for leavin'. They're not sampled here so you should get the disc at once! I love those guys who are bold enough to release over 60 minutes of their own words and music, and who are damn right as every second is worth the price of admission. I'm glad to welcome Andy in my personal Pantheon with Jeffrey Foucault and Danny Schmidt, two other masters of stripped-down acoustic music. Hervé, pAris pAl, www.mysongwriters.com
Must have for Americana listeners. Luscious, dark harmonies & lyrics.
author: Amy EnglandAndrew Hunt and band forge a rambling dirt road back to real country. This collection of gems is a must have for anyone tuning in to Americana. Stunning, haunting harmonies. Try to catch them live in NYC.
