notes

Anders Manga broke into the scene in April of 2004 with his debut solo release, "One Up for the Dying" on Vampture Records. Described as darkwave, goth rock, gothtronica, etc... Anders Manga has developed a quick following in many genres. He became the all-time most downloaded goth artist at download.com with over 40,000 downloads in 2005.

Songs such as "Solitary Heaven", "Shiver", "Heart of Black" and more have been turning up on DJ's playlists worldwide while "We Won't Stay Dead" is quickly becoming a Goth/Industrial night staple.

Also in 2005, Anders Manga headlined Goth Stock in Hartford, CT, a two day festival featuring other goth/industrial artists such as The Cruxshadows, Bella Morte, Genitorturers, and many more. Two months prior he played "Dracula's Ball" in Philadelphia, the largest event of it's type in America before heading to Atlanta for a special show during the extremely popular fantasy arts convention, Dragoncon.

SickAmongthePure.com says, "Mixing the best elements of H.I.M. and current EBM staples, this album kicks off with the infectious beat in “We Won’t Stay Dead” that never really relents for the entire ten tracks." Gothtronic.com says, "Anders Manga is a band we will hear more from, without a doubt" and Neo-Zine.com says, "If I was looking for the perfect example of a gothic industrial group, Anders Manga would certainly be top contender."

At the time of writing, Anders is about to release a follow up called, "Left of an All-Time Low" in January of 2005 which includes 11 new songs including the singles, "This Circle", "Empire On the Sun" & a cover of Mercyful Fate's "Gypsy".

Gothic Beauty Magazine said in their Fall issue the following about Anders Manga, "Superb Dark Electronica... One Artist of Definite Interest to Follow."

I was first introduced to me from gothic beauty, your CD Welcome to the Horror Show" was exquisite! I then bought Blood Lush but never got to buy the older stuff, I really love this album a whole lot!

From someone that has been in the scene for quite awhile i was quite refreshed when i first heard Anders Manga, it was something new and fresh and quite different from alot of stuff that was being offered out there. I think the band has the potential to cross many different markets , not just the steryotipical goth scene. I was glad to reaquire there first albumn, since my last copy that i received at a club had since gotten scratched and unreadable. Still a joy to listen to. One downside though. There still is not any videos that accompany certain songs on this disk offered on the albumn. One day i would like to play the videos that are on certain albumns in a non-u tube format. Dvd Video compilation anyone?

As an old Goth, I felt I had come back home again. Poetic, insightful, a bit naughty and completely dance-able...very dark, dark chocolate with a glass of Shiraz. ( Heck, I said I was old )
