notes
Amy Heard has performed all over the country in musical review shows, including three months at Playland in New York and six months on a cruise ship out of Maine (for Raymond Productions/ Nashville, Tennessee). Amy is pursuing a career as a professional singer/ songwriter and recording artist. She has performed in many fairs, festivals, clubs, special events and benefits, as well as guest appearances at the Palace of Auburn Hills, Michigan and other venues, singing the American and Canadian National Anthems.
Amy has produced and recorded three CDs, the latest being a new single, "This Day". She will be releasing an LP entitled "Meant To Be", this winter. Both new releases feature a full rock band. Her first EP, pop/folk inspired "Sister To Sister", released in December 2003, was a production of songs written by her younger sister who was tragically killed in a car accident at age eighteen.
Heard's performances the past couple of years have begun to turn heads. This year, she gained 13 nominations at the 2005 Detroit Music Awards in Acoustic/Folk, Pop/Rock, and Christian/Gospel. Last year, after being nominated for seven awards, she walked away with awards for Outstanding Christian Vocalist and Outstanding Christian Songwriter.
Amy Heard grew up in the small town of Macomb, Illinois. She was placed under vocal instruction at Western Illinois University at the age of twelve, after her parents heard her unexpected solo in an eighth grade musical. She soon gained early acceptance into W.I.U., where she performed with the University Dance Theatre and the Summer Music Theatre, and continued to study voice and guitar, all while still in High School. The papers called her a "triple threat talent" and she was awarded "Best Actress" and "Best Vocal Performance" awards by the Thespian Society for her role as "Adelaide" in "Guys and Dolls".
After a transfer to Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan, she attained a Bachelor of Music with minors in Theatre and Dance. While at O.U., Amy received a full tuition scholarship to perform with the Meadow Brook Estate, a professional, touring show choir. She also preformed with the Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Oakland Chorale and a barbershop quartet, as well as many theatrical productions. Heard's portrayal of Julie Andrews' "Polly Browne" in "The Boyfriend" brought O.U. to the American College Theatre Festival (ACTFA) competition for the first time since the 1970's.
As for Heard's plans for the future, she is seeking a record contract. "I hope to bring something new and refreshing to the music industry, something that will get people thinking about their direction in life", says Amy. "I don't believe in coincidence or luck, but I do believe in miracles. If I could play a role in just one of those miracles, I have lived a wonderful life."

I Love "Sweet Angel"
author: Rachel Lynn ReyesAmy, I love this song. Thank you for sharing it with us. Danielle sounds like she was a very special young woman.
Sweet Angel is Sweet !!!
author: Sebastian VaughanHarry Phillips is playing piano on this song!?!? That's Awesome!!! He is one of the greatest Rock-Roll/Blues piano players that ever came out of the Detroit area! Not to mention the fact that he was a member of two legendary Detroit area rock bands, Catfish and Mitch Ryder and The Detroit Wheels! Nice job asking Harry to play on your album. Just listen to that Smokin' piano!

Sweet Angel
author: Amy HeardThis song, along with several others, was left to me by my younger sister, Danielle. This was her very first attempt at composing a song on the guitar. A dear friend, Harry Phillips (Catfish, Mitch Ryder/Detroit), added the driving percussion and haunting piano. Although ironically eerie, this song remains my favorite. Thank You Danielle. I Love You.

Simple, dramatic & genuine music from a genuine gal
author: Ford H. Cotton IIIMy favorite song on this album is Pink Tennis Shoes. I really like the combination of light-heartedness and insecurity -- they seem to balance each other out to provide a simple, yet genuine portrait of a young girl. Highly recommended -- be ready to be touched deep down inside!
