ABOUT THE ARTIST

In October of 2005, a very fine musician from Germany ( Gunnar Spardel of Tigerforest ) caught Amethyste's attention. One of his wonderful song "Summer Rain" was playing on the player and she HAD to click on the "view" button. Suddenly, she was transported into a new dimension where music has a soul and feelings. A place where she secretly wanted to reach for so long... She was compelled to write him a note telling him how wonderful and beautiful his music was. He replied to her later that day that he really liked her voice and if she was interested into collaborating musically to please let him know. She was mostly surprised that he replied to her kind message because she felt that his compositions were just so spectacular, somewhat intimidating at the same time.

It seems that everything took an uplifting turn in 2006 when Gunnar and Amethyste started to collaborate more extensively on several projects ranging from Trance - Dance to Ambient. They finally decided to meet in February of 2006 in NYC, then shortly after their first meeting, Gunnar came to spend 3 months in the USA focusing on music composition and production. Their love for each other fueled the creation of Amethyste's debut CD titled "Ethereal". Gunnar's extreme composing ability really showcases Amethyste's soothing and dreamy ample vocal range. The beautiful music that Amethyste and Gunnar Spardel create have been heard in radio stations in Europe as well as many internet radios. Ethereal warms the heart and shines light upon their acclaimed and distinctive style of music.

    My favorite way to listen to this CD is lying down or in a comfortable chair with my headphones so I can tune out the world - because when I do, I feel like I'm floating in the clouds listening to the singing of an angel! I don't have anything else that comes close to helping me achieve a state where it feels so peaceful, relaxing, and uplifting. I feel she is a pure source of positive energy! Besides that, it's great music too! It's been said before, but I'm really happy with the seamless flow between songs, it keeps me suspended in those clouds without falling! Thanks to both of you!

    For those who love ambient electronica this is an addicting treat of breathtaking angelic vocals atop beautifully composed music. Yet this cd is so much more than just great music. It has that unique and amazing ability too soothe and calm one's mind. It is truly a masterpiece in every sense. When music moves you beyond sound, when it penetrates deeper than your heart and takes you on a journey beyond yourself, then you know you've got something very special on your hands. A true gem.

    What I love about this CD is the perfect blend between lyrical pieces and adlib ones. The way the songs flow into each other is really delightful. Amethyste's vocal range is very wide and her producer really put that talent on a pedestal. The result is a wonderful calming experience. The type of music Amethyste and Gunnar ( I hope I spelled this right ) create is very unique. In Ambient music, usually you hear a somewhat uneventful progression, repetition is what brings you to relaxation, but in this case, "Ethereal" is composed with such thoughtfulness, songs that have character, some are a little more fast paced and then you are lulled into calmness again. I just wished that the lyrics were included into the CD folds. Thank you Amethyste and Gunnar for helping me in my difficult moments, I have listened to your CD countless of times. My favorite moment is when I come back from work, I am stuck in traffic - hearing your sweet and caressing voice makes my journey home to my wife and kids a breeze!
