notes
Lucinda Durkee and Clark Parry are the Allegheny Mountain Dulcimer Players. This husband and wife team have been playing folk music all their lives. Both are of Welsh extraction, and feel the music on Taming the Welsh Dragon to the very depth of their bones. They have been teaching folk music for many years at such places as Juniata Folk College, Huntingdon, Pa., Cooks Forest Dulcimer Festival, and their very own gathering, The Heart of the Alleghenies Folk Music Festival. www.hotafest.org.
Taming the Welsh Dragon was a project with it's roots in preparing to play for The Florida State Fair on Celtic Day. Clark and Cindy played for crowds estimated in the thousands, and the Welsh folk and hymn tunes stood proud along with the Scotts and Irish, giving even the bagpipes a run for the money in remarkably unforgettable music.
Many thanks to Troy Berton, our producer, band, sound tech and friend.
