“Bitz of Pieces” was a true labor of love, as it took almost 20 year to complete and I feel the music has stood the test of time. This was done with my friend Bob Baldwin who was a HUGE help in making this a reality, sharing co-writing and arranging duties.
The variety in the music on this cd is representative of the many different styles of music I was lucky to grow up listening to and playing.
I have always felt that a book is not a book until it has been read, and with this cd the same sentiment could be applied. With the writing, playing and recording of this music, the process is only completed when it is listened to. Thank you and enjoy.
The music on “Bitz” was influenced by the likes of Grover Washington, Jr, Earth Wind & Fire, Jeff Lorber Fusion, George Howard, Spyro Gyra, Andy Narell, Kit Walker, George Duke, Dave Valentin, John Coltrane.
Bitz of Pieces features, Bob Baldwin, Onaje Allan Gumbs, Vincent Henry (Tom Waits, Alex Bugnon, Jonathan Butler, Najee),Will Downing, Marvin Sewell (Cassandra Wilson, Jack DeJohnette, Jason Moran, Lizz Wright), Buddy Williams (The Color Purple, Roberta Flack, Manhattan Transfer), Garvin Blake, Larry Marsden, Bashiri Johnson (Luther Vandross, Whitney Houston, Spyro Gyra), Reggie Washington (Steve Coleman, Branford Marsalis, Roy Hargrove), Audrey Wheeler-Downing (Chaka Khan, Unlimited Touch, Patti Austin, Brian Ferry), Eric Smith, Ray Vega, Kenny Davis (Tonight Show Band)

A touch of "classic 70's soul" in this contemporary instrumental groovin music. Smooth flowing music with a great vibe, not just more 'smooth jazz'! Favorties include: "Midnight", "And like that" If you enjoy the music of artists such as Grover Washington Jr, Ronnie Laws the Yellowjackets, etc, I believe you will enjoy this. Includes an impressive line up of talented veterine New York musicians
