notes
Sharon Allitt is one of New Jersey's most promising artists. A singer/songwriter since an early age, her intelligent and intriguing lyrics, smooth melodies and liquid vocals rival that of the best known and most talented artists. Sharon has been toting her music throughout 10 states, including venues such as The Saint in Asbury Park NJ and various Barnes & Noble and Borders Cafes. The response to Sharon's music has been overwhelming.
A favorite among reviewers, GoGirlsMusic.com had the following to say in January 2002 "Allitt possesses a beautifully rich voice comparison to Annie Lennox. It's almost sinful as to how soulful the songs are on this lush piece of work." In an article in The Banner of North Brunswick NJ, Stephanie Gambetta states "Allitts music is a near perfect hybrid to Joni Mitchell and Tori Amos Her songs are both beautiful and bitterly honest." Adam McKibbin of Suite 101 calls Sharon's song "Independent Thought" "another fine piece of songwriting. It's a provocative piece that manages to take an overdone subject matter-finding one's independence-and makes it interesting, even leaving it up for interpretation."
Sharon has three cds under her belt. For other information & upcoming performances visit http://www.sharonallitt.net
