notes
Jonathan Pearlman and company bounce joyfully from rock to funk and jazz. Guitar influences include Jeff Beck, Eric Johnson, and John Scofield.
The opening track is "Crash Landing", a non-stop rockabilly instrumental. It's followed by "Damn That Spam", a funny, funky jazz number. "Daddy Was A Pecan Man" is a Motown-flavored tune with a rock solid beat. "Trashman" is a blues shuffle with hot guitar solos and clever lyrics."Summer Hepatitis Party" is a true story about a food poisoning incident. "Grandma's Money" is a straight-ahead rocker. "My Dawg's Got A.D.D." is hilarious country-rock. "Bee's Nest In Yer Brain", a high-energy punk rocker in the spirit of Offspring and Bad Religion. Interspersed with hilarious phone calls with telemarketers, "Top Secret" is a great party album with something for everybody!
