Don Alexander is a Louisiana born-and-raised multi-instrumentalist (he can also play keyboards and sing). This CD is a sax instrumental work but he is just as likely to come out with a funky Louisiana blues band project next. Don loves to perform live and currently works in the locals scene in Las Vegas. This CD features jazz, light rock, ballads, and latin rhythms unified by a full and smoky sax tone. Nine of the eleven tracks are originals.

Here are some notes he made concerning Wake Up To Love:

I had made the sax a part of my act for so many years, that fans began coming in just to hear me do that. I had women coming in to get their sax fix. I had musicians coming in to hear 'that tone I was getting', or the vibe I had. I realized that something was happening here, and I'd better work with it. In addition, I've often wanted to listen to a recording that just was a comfort; not noisy, but smooth and relaxing yet energizing at the same time. This CD was an effort to provide that."

    This is a great CD. Crisp and clean like fresh air. Soothing, spirit lifting.. Pure JOY makes me smile. I have had the pleasure of seeing Don in person in Las Vegas many times. His talents are limitless. He has a gift that is meant to be shared. Not only is he one with his Sax, his keyboard and vocals are amazing. He has an eclectic mix of music that keeps everyone wanting more. He is a sweet southern boy with an amazing talent. Best of luck Don you deserve to be recognized.

    Pure original Sax! It speaks to me! Draws feelings from me! How can I listen to this CD, write about it, and not know it's Don Alexander? It is Superb! Romantic, uplifting, carries the mind to far-off mellow places. Smooth. Liquid. Punctuated with surprises. Its supreme quality and originality are reminiscent of the sax I listened to in the early '80's, when I first discovered sax like I'd never heard it before - played by Don Alexander.
