notes
Every so often a voice comes around that leaves an impression that lasts long past the playing of the final track on a CD. Boston's James Aldridge has that type of voice.
This is true soul music with a smooth jazz feel! James was influenced by Nat King Cole, Bobby Caldwell and Al Jarreau.
He is often compared with the likes of Phil Perry, Jeffrey Osbourne and Will Downing Jr.
Close Your Eyes includes 11 soulful tracks produced by Lester Goodwine.

WHATS HE DOING NOW ??
author: Clive Hamlett UKI have been aware of this album for some time, but i can't believe it's 8 years old. What i want to know is what is what is James Aldridge doing now? this is just a wonderful cd i have played it over and over, 'Don't let me go' is probably the standout track, for me it's just so haunting and sung superbly, but let me tell you, every track is wonderful.James,do us 'soulies' a favour and get back in that recording studio!
Excellent. For anyone who enjoys R&B/Smooth Jazz
author: DianneThis cd is good enough to eat. Finally a new(?) artist who can SAANG and appeals to the adult listening audience! Every bit as good as Will Downing and Luther Vandross(my favorites). I definitely want to hear more. This was recorded in 2002. What's the holdup?

An Elegant Urban Adult Contemporary Album
author: SoulTracks.com"Close Your Eyes" by James Aldridge is an elegant urban adult contemporary album performed by a marvelous singer. Lester Goodwine's production is right on for Aldridge's smooth baritone, which shines especially on "Don't Let Me Go" and on "Leora," a great cut that is the album's highlight and is worthy of attention. Close Your Eyes is a rare breed of modern album that both hits the urban adult contemporary market musically and has lyrical depth to it. [To see the full review, visit www.soultracks.com]

Super smooth production, a solid collection of songs and a stunning vocal performance from JAMES ALDRIDGE. What more can anyone want from a CD? Pour yourself a glass of wine, light some candles, sit back and relax - this is the perfect accompaniment.

Best of 2001 so far
author: Gordon StoneIt's rare to find a soul album that stands up against the hundreds of classics, especially from the 70's. This is one. Leora is the best track to come out so far this year (now July) and the rest of the album isn't far behind. Gordon Stone, Horwich, UK (into soul in a big way since 66)
This is definitely worth all the buzz that's going around on the soul scene in t
author: A. JacksonThis is simply great quality music. James has a voice that somehow connects to the bottom of your soul. This artist deserves a long and great career in the music industry. All the best to James Aldridge and the rest of the team responsible for the album!!!
At last, a singer that sings a song & means it!
author: T. CarterThe Songs on this album are really good, I really like "Leora". Each song seems to have a personal story I could relate to and the music ranged from toe tappin' to songs about love and people. Can't wait for the tours. Looking forward to more from this guy!
