notes

Robin's 5th album tells a series of "short stories" through evocative but lesser-known piano masterpieces of Debussy, Glinka, Grieg, Granados, Mendelssohn and others. "Funeral March of a Marionette" will be instantly recognizable as the theme from "the Alfred Hitchcock Hour." Explore distant memories, quiet moods and exotic lands in this eclectic collection of piano music.

  • Great Selection, Wonderfully Executed!
    author: Jerry Anderson

An instant set of new favorites executed with Robin's great dynamic range, superb trills, and pacing that holds an intense dramatic arch. I know and play the piece from Shumann's Kinderscenen (Foreign Lands & People), and had heard several others, but now I find great pleasure in her Lady and the Nightengale, Last Rose of Summer, and of course The Funeral March of a Marionette. Production values are very high, with no clipping, great dynamic range, and quality sound detail. Highly recommended.
