notes
alaskahighway, combining serious attitude and dark songwriting, are an arresting blend of darkwave & pop, utilizing contemporary sounds found in both industrial and electronic dance music.
aggressively layered percussion and heavy european-derived sequences from moose support anthony's classically compelling melodies and demonstrate the diverse influences of early electronic pioneers gary numan and john foxx, as well as depeche mode, nine inch nails and more recently arrived bands such as covenant, wumpscut and v.n.v.nation.
alaskahighway's debut album, attitudes of a difficult mind, delivers one hell of a ride...
originally formed in london in the late '90s, alaskahighway is the main realization of moose - adding to his experiments in electronic music with the influences of the early pioneering artists from the synthetic world.
this project took on a different shape after a move to los angeles in early 2001, with the addition of anthoni, who is a native of the west coast areas that have been a heavy influence on his writing styles.
a strong collaborative work between the two flourished in the summer of 2003 and have intertwined both light and dark electronica with the more classic style of song composition.
moose is the man behind the machine who reminds listeners of early programmers in the genres more popular in the european music scene, while anthoni contributes compositions and vocals that stem from score-like to gothic.
everyone who has heard their debut album, entitled 'attitudes of a difficult mind', agree that alaskahighway can not be categorized in to any one genre as their music goes from one extreme to another, finding a balance in between, is often unsettling, but totally intriguing.
an intelligent mix of light, dark, melancholy, angry, this duo has just begun in their quest to redefine electronic music...

"the very first impressions before the first listening. a kind of a childhood excitement took over me and i really hoped that i do not have to be disappointed. let me clear it up, no signs of disappointment, nowhere, none."-mofoman / copyright http://www.ld50.hu. reproduced with permission.
"the show was outstanding"-unperson
"i've heard a lot of the material ... it floats through several different styles, mixing quite a few - industrial, ebm, pop with some sounds that are bordering on techno - all done tastefully ... something that sounds clean and uncluttered."-eric.
"their music is different than the typical synthpop sound, especially since i see a lot of 'pop' put in to industrial music, and that makes it cool. if you are looking for a dark synthpop sound with an industrial twist....check out alaska highway !!"-synth-master
