If you were to give him a piano, and ask Alan Lett to sit and sing for you some of his favorite hymns, and to throw in a couple of his original songs, you'd have Heart, Soul & Hymns. The album, to the brim with 21 tracks, is Alan in the rawest, most intimate setting yet. This album is a must-have for anyone who grew up singing classic hymns like "How Great Thou Art," "The Old Rugged Cross", and so many more. Alan’s unique vocal arrangements of the songs, not to mention his unique voice, make this latest album an unforgettable one.
All the songs are live studio recordings of the songs as performed at the September 2006 "Heart, Soul & Hymns" concert in Houston, Texas, with the exception of "Mansion Over The Hilltop," which is an A Capella version of the oldie beautifully arranged by Alan himself. The collection is topped off with a stellar dance remix of "When Jesus Calls My Name," one of Alan's originals.
