Growing up in Los Angeles, Alana Gentry was one of those people destined to be a performer. She started singing by the age of four and at seven began dancing and performing throughout the city with a dance company. In high school she was drawn to musical theater and there discovered her love for acting. After high school she continued to study acting and decided to learn to play the guitar. It was then that her life long love of singing came into the forefront and became her chosen vocation.

Alana started writing and playing out solo throughout the Los Angeles club circuit. During that time she met many other musicians with whom she wrote, performed and recorded with and in February 2003 released her second EP-Illuminate. In June 2004 she moved to New York City and continues to write, dance and perform.

    Love the CD. Especially love THOUGHTS OF YOU. It has a haunting melody with beautiful harmonies. I also love ALRIGHT. I really like the fact that there is so much variety in her songs. Her lyrics carry so much truth and emotion. You just know that she's lived them. The more I play the CD, the more I love it. I highly recommend it. She is a great singer and songwriter. The band's great, too. Give me more!

    What a great, exiting CD. Alana Gentry's TAKE ME is an undeniable hit. It is sensual, earthy, and sexy. What soulfull lyrics. ALL I NEED is also a hit. So positive and uplifting. NEED TO CHANGE really rocks. It shows the wide variety of an accomplished artist and a hot band. The change of pace of THOUGHTS OF YOU really bring the depth of Alana's soul and musical talent to light. All in all, I am thrilled with the CD. My only questions are where can I see her perform and when is she coming out with more songs? Why haven't I heard of her before? She is a star talent.
