notes
Songwriter Andrew D. Huber offers a stunning collection of songs on “Seagull”, his sophomore solo effort, and fourth album overall including his continuing work with critically acclaimed guitar-pop band The Gecko Club.
From the opening note of “Lonely Heartache Song” to the gentle fade of “Stronger Light”, the album offers 13 songs that are drenched with two elements that are missing in scores of albums released each year -- heart and spirit.
“Seagull” highlights Andrew D. Huber’s commitment to his craft. The songs are sharply arranged, smartly performed, and expertly hit the “tug-of-war-of-life” note the songwriter is known to angle toward.
Highlights of the album include the melancholic beauty of “Union Station”, the Irish Pub howl of “One More Round”, and the longing affection of “Greatest Success”.
Andrew D. Huber’s first solo offering (2003’s Ten Songs from the Side Room) garnered impressive critical comparisons to both James Taylor and Dan Fogelberg. With its folk-rock leanings, "Seagull" may very well poise Andrew D. Huber to get his own place on the Copperline.

Seagull
author: Steve SobiechThe album sounds like Andy, his own sound. I've read reviews of him sounding like other bands, but to me, it's his own voice coming through. It's great to hear an artist be able to put his heart on the line, and record it so the rest of us can hear it. Great work, Andy!
