notes

Jazz organist Adam Scone remains true to his art form. Adam feels it is essential to keep the sound of the Hammond B3 organ alive. He has dedicated his life to this task. Mr. Scone has worked with jazz legends Lou Donaldson, Jimmy Cobb, Al Harewood, Bubba Brooks, and George Braith. He has also recorded with other great musicians in the R&B field, drummer Bernard Purdie, and bass player Fred Thomas. Adam has toured the World with popular band the Sugarman Three and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Jazz Ambassadors.

Ben Dixon is a true Jazz veteran. He has recorded with everyone from Grant Green and Big John Patton to Johnny Hodges and Jack Mcduff.

On this release Scone explores moods of the Hammond organ that are often left untouched. It is not your typical jazz-organ experience. This record dives into the dark side of the sound and exposes the inner beauty.

  • Jolly Jazz
    author: 1234 Bob

Adam Ccone is a cool organist. Very credible and liberal playing. I am pleased and feeling like i have aquired a soulful piece of jazz history. This New York City based(but Louisiana born saxaphonist & currebtly touring with The Dap Kings and Mrs.Sharon Jones circa January 2008) Ian Hendrickson-smith brings this cd together. The tallented combo of Scone H-Smith is a jazz symposium of sorts. The lonely organist is a suprising finale and rounds out the project with grace and bold ryhthms.

  • Ruggedly Hard Stuff

This Scone no like tea and crumpets stuff. Yes, thanks you jazz man. You cute organ sexy music making Blue Balls intriguing band of Jazz Freaks. Yes...i like much! Adam is like our co-star BIG Blue Balls. Except he no wears a wrestling mask. His band is well hung. Crazy great soul jazz. Minka's curvy models will love to chuckle over this groovy cats music. After hard nights sweaty work to. Kayla will like Scone's Wild organ Vibrations. I feel good when listening to Adam Scone and so does Blue Balls after riding Ms. Minka. U Love me all night please?!

Scone works the biscuits mighty fine on this project. Very cool grooves and some nifty fingered solos. Having Ian Hendrickson-Smith on Sax is prized indeed. Keep the frolicking going Adam! Your writing is stellar of course. The Sugarman 3 has a master craftsman on site. The Beer Buzz makes this cd even better. Dap Kings would rejoice after hearing these cuts! No doubt. Oh Yes...Oh Yah. mr. Scone's Organ Orgie has arrived Mon Ami. Wrap it up...make it to go Leroy! These guys are Wild and they have something Electric in their pockets all right. Get Adam Scone's Wild Electric Organ scene soon Jazz Freaks!!

  • FANTASTIC CD!!!
    author: Rob Matthews

This CD is unreal!!! If you feeling mellow, you can kick back to it. If you are feeling pumped you can enjoy the grooves and move a bit. If you just want to appreciate a great sound, this is the CD. This CD is AMBIENCE!!!

  • Nice jazzy B3. Where's my coffee?
    author: Keith Hyde

So I found Mr. Scone through the notes on my Sugarmans 3 - Pure Cane Sugar album where he teases and rips the soul out on tracks 3 and 10, Pure Cane and Culabra (he plays every other track as well). After that, I knew I must try some more of Mr. Scone's accomplishments. This CD shows the jazzier and mellower side of Mr. Scone's playing. None of these songs, however, are as gripping as his soul/boogaloo work with the Sugar. Yet, this album is strong in its own right, and is one of my favorites to accompany morning coffee on the deck, chill times with lady friends, and those good old do-nothing chill-out enjoy-the-day-off days. Mr. Scone has a couple other collaborative albums out I intend to explore too. There's no pressure here other than to swing along.

  • Great record with a soulful vibe...
    author: Jim Alfredson

Adam Scone has written an album of wonderful original material for the organ quartet. His tunes feature catchy melodies and fine solos from everyone involved. I bought this record on a reccomendation and I'm glad I did. Ben Dixon on drums is worth the price of admission alone! This CD has received heavy rotation in my CD player since I got it! Any fan of the classic Hammond B3 sound will love this record.
