notes
This compilation brings together the best and the brightest in the LDS (Latter Day Saints) a cappella community, featuring contemporary crossover vocal bands like Eclipse, The Knudsen Bros and The Standards, barbershop heavy hitters Reprise, and soulful contemporary Christian groups like Shine and 259. The repertoire on the album is heavily Christian, with the few exceptions being the mellow opening track "Brown Eyed Girl" done by The Standards, a rockin' Elvis medley by The Knudsen Bros ("Blue Suede Shoes/Hound Dog") and traditional folklore given new life by Reprise on "I've Been Workin' on the Railroad." Check out the slick new synth-vocal effects on "I Can't Break Away" by The Standards. This is a GREAT album, with lots of variety and high-quality vocalizing.
