“Without mystery or surprise, Brown’s music bears witness to steadfastness. I find it impossible to suppress an association with Paul Robeson.”

In 2002 he was the invited guest of the U.S. State Department to Bosnia as a good will ambassador in that multi ethnic war torn country. There he used the Spirituals as a tool to assist in the process of healing and reconciliation. While in Asia he also made a stop in Japan where he performed and lectured. He has recorded four CDs. The first one is entitled “Spirituals” with cover art by the renown African American artist Jacob Lawrence. His second recording entitled “Embracing American Song” is a collection of folk songs, sacred songs and popular songs of the 19th century.
