notes

A Brokeheart Pro is Jeannette Kantzalis of The Chubbies (Sympathy For The Record Industry) latest project.

Jeannette records everything herself on her 8 track at home.

A Brokeheart Pro has released videos and a very popular blog "Josephine The Outlaw King" that's turned into a novel to be published early 2009.

The story of Josephine is also the outline of the album Jeannette's working on now with the same title.

There's always something going on with her...

  • Growing On Me
    author: Aaron Spriggs

Good, solid album. I am more enamored that she does it all herself, but like the music too. With each listen, her music grows on me. I'm hoping to end up looking like some ol' gothic building all vine covered and mossy green. I look green in green. But enough about me. I'm enjoying the album and recomend others give it a listen.

  • Fantabulous!

This album was everything I expected from Jeannette Kantzalis! This CD has it all....an amazing voice and music that will rock your soul.

  • Very talented musician, excellent person
    author: Robert Jensen

Received the cd last week and has not left my cd player yet. Even managed to get my dad hooked.

  • Changeable chanteuse
    author: nolens volens

This CD is an ambitious project that pulls the listener across an assortment of genres. "Bleed On" aims at resurrecting the signature feel of The Pretenders' 1979 "Precious/The Phone Call," while other tracks are influenced by grrrl-punk, quasi-alt-country, Mazzy Star, and '90s pop, and suffused with lyrics expressing the type of angst generally found in a young woman's tearstained and under-lock-and-key diary. With plenty of earnest determination and impassioned intent, the artist tries very ardently to evoke --- but is a tad short of doing so --- mature Nick Cave- or P.J. Harvey-style emotion.

  • Raw & rockin'!
    author: Outlaw Steve

This desert darlin' rocks it dirty and sweet with bad-ass vocals, smoking guitars, sassy lyrics & rippin' tunes. If you like your gals soft and nice, this CD's NOT FOR YOU! This is one tough kitty with claws, daddy-o.

  • A lot that's right & enough that isn't
    author: Josephine Redden

Amy Lotsberg at Collected Sounds gives this band points for trying and so do I! The singer has obviously worked very hard and seems sincere. The album puts out a lot of naughty talk but where's the love and heartbreak? It all seems like getting back at someone. Pretty voice but guitars sound off. I'd like to hear more from the band.

  • Risky - but it paid off
    author: Peter Jeffery

A great CD - sometimes rocking, sometimes wistful. I bought it without hearing any of the tracks (my computer has no sound) - on a gut feeling. A risky procedure, I suppose, but it paid off.

  • Jeannette is a very talented musician with a wonderfully haunting sound.
    author: Mike Daniels

I fell in love with her work the first time I heard it. I was very excited to get this CD, and was not disappointed, it is the best CD I have bought in awhile, and has already become a favorite for me to listen to.
