If Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway" album and Dautry's debut record had a baby, it would be this one. Strong vocals, killer hooks that will leave you singing in your sleep.

notes
It’s no secret that life is not easy. There is no real way to know how the choices we make will effect our future. We can’t control the outcome, but we can control how we live through it. There will be many times in your life where you will question the decisions you’ve made and weigh them against the point in your life to which you currently stand. This is where life starts to get complicated. I have found, however, that as human nature dictates we need to learn to face our demons in all their (ugly) glory. After all, isn’t it the “ugly” that unites us all together? Doesn’t loss eventually find new life, and in despair, there is change? We ultimately end up as better creatures than before—scars and all. That is why I choose to embrace my pain and see it for what it truly is. Not so much as ugly, but as an ugly kind of beautiful. My hope is that through this record you will do the same.

Aaron Sidwell - Music's New Star
author: Nora AmraniAaron Sidwell's album "An Ugly Kind Of Beautiful" of 12 songs expresses what most of us have experience; naivity, love, disappointment ("An Ugly Kind of Beautiful"), heartbreak ("Cruel Love"), a wish for revenge and vindication, a rising of the phoenix from the ashes to finding a new and more complete self, and a seeking a new and more powerful love ("Will You Be My Girl" and "Just Right For You") - which culminates in the amazingly beautiful ballad "Something Like Heaven" - a song that once you hear it, you're hooked. For me, it's the perfect song melodically, structurally, lyrically, and energetically. It speaks directly to one's heart. I am not a fan of comparing artists, so for those of you who need it, I think Aaron is the male counterpart to Avril Levine and Alanis Morissette, with similarities to 'NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys, only a level up and with more variations in musical style. This album has something for any age, and I feel anybody who purchases it and hears it will be glad they bought it. Aaron Sidwell is an artist whose time has come to be recognized, enjoyed and valued.
