notes
Jim Becker is a very versatile singer, songwriter, and musician who has seventeen years performing everything from weddings to opening act for groups such as Highway 101 and the Bellamy Brothers. His versatility in music has allowed him to start a variety of groups including Country and Top 40 Rock.
With ease, each group was started from the adaptability of his talent and the rapore he had with the club owners who believed in his talent and capabilities. These club owners gave him work even before he had the bands put together.
One of the most successful groups was the Wild River Band which won the Wrangler Country Showdown and represented the State of Colorado by performing at the Roy Acuff Hall at the Grand Ole Opry Complex.
Jim started guitar at the age of eight, being taught some finger picking at the Boys Club of America. In High School he performed in everything from choir to Jazz Ensemble. Jim started performing with his own groups and with the change of each group he picked up the fiddle, the keyboards, and the bass guitar. He has a smooth distinct voice which has added a fresh new sound to his musical talent, which appeals to both young and old alike.
It is Jim's songwriting ability however, that makes him stand out. One of his popular ballads, 'Wishing That You Were Here', was requested nightly and was a bigger hit than even Jim's 'Pull Out From Nowhere' fiddle playing that got people on their feet. Tapes containing that song were sold from local stages and count was lost somewhere past 1000.
Jim has earned respect and admiration for his writing and singing ability from his peers, many who have always believed that his songs have the potential for success. All that is needed is the guidance to carry the songs to other performers, or someone to be guiding the complete, self contained talent of Jim the rest of the way.
