True music of the Civil War
author: Luke ReynoldsThis CD is an absolute joy, and an invaluable resource. The song selection and performance is excellent, and period accurate. My only real problem is which of their CDs to buy next...
Battlefields and Campfires
author: Roland BarralAbsolutely first rate CD. Listening to the 97th Regimenatal String Band is still as great as the first time I heard them live almost 20 years ago. Just close your eyes and listen to be taken back to the 1860s.

If you like this kind of music you're sure to love this group. They have a good timbre, both human and instrumental.
Class of the Field
author: Ray Hendersonthe 97th is far and away the best around when it comes to Civil War-era music. There are others that are good, but these guys are GREAT. Buy all their stuff immediately.
The BEST
author: Janice DrakeAs always. I love these guys, can't get enough. We sing these songs around our campfire at night, play them in our cars as we drive to events, or listen any time. GUARANTEED TO LOVE!
