Inclement Weather

CD permanently out of stock. Sorry!
This release melds grooves ambient to hip-hop with understated vocals and atmospheric samples and clarinets. Critically acclaimed and very hard to find, this is a fine addition to any trip-hop collection.

notes
Eighty Mile Beach are a melding of two worlds: Custer's poetic lyricism and clarinetistry with Jones' rhythmic, beat-influenced grooves. Together they make organic primordial music influenced by everything from jazz improvisation to the rhythms of modern electronic dance.
Custer is best known for having worked with the notorious Club Foot Orchestra for 15 years, renowned for their live scores to silent film classics suchs as Fritz Lang's "Metropolis" and Buster Keaton's "Sherlock Jr."
She also recorded 4 albums as a founding member of the 4th world trance dance band Trance Mission on City of Tribes records.
A San Francisco native, Jones began as a hip-hop DJ at clubs and college radio eventually picking up the guitar, bass, and samplers. His love of music led him into studio production having worked with Charlie Hunter, Henry Kaiser, and Bill Frisell to name a few.
