    I am a Soldier. I have did a tour in Iraq and I am about to do another. When my unit came back a friend of mine had a this CD, Holding my breath is the perfect song for every Soldier...the calls home are never the real deal, one because you don't want your family trippin and to, its a confidential line anyway so you can't say much. This album is not getting the credit that it is suppose to, because America in general do not want to hear the truth, they want to think things are getting better, they want to think Soldiers don't suffer emotionally and physically, they want to stay in a dandelion world with blue skys and green nulls instead of the heap of compost, grey horizons and burnt out fields that the war and this world really is.

    i actually worked with these guys my 1st deployment back in 2004/2005 and i gotta say that i ended up losing contact with most of them....however i never forgot any of the songs! it's the 1 and only cd that i listen to every single day and it helps me out with this deployment that i'm working thru right now.

    I heard this right after i had graduated from Infantry school at Fort Benning and was being shipped to airborne school, it got me all fired up! This is the best damn cd i have heard in a long ass time and i love it, the meanings of the songs, the lyrics, the beats, and i find it absolutely amazing that it was all done in Iraq. That had to have taken some true dedication. I just got news recently that i would be deployed to Iraq sometime within the next three - 4 months with the 82nd Airborne Div. And i have been bumpin this album 24/7 scince then. Good luck and make it back home.

    I read about this CD in someone's blog on MSN Spaces, then I took her advice, without hearing the music. I am so glad I did. The lyrics describe the raw emotions experienced by the soldiers. Whether it was the sadness of leaving families at home or the mental struggles of fighting for your life daily. My best friend is serving our country and she doesn't share the scariness with us, she doesn't want us to think about the dangers, but through this music I could understand the depression, the sadness, the real emotions she faces daily. I recommend this CD to any American, whether they are for or against the war efforts. The old saying is "You can't knock it until you try it" I think everyone needs to hear this music before they make uneducated comments on the life of our soldiers and the struggles they face.

People in this country have lost touch with sacrifice, responsibility & service...this CD does a lot to remind them of what some go through for the benefit of others. Well written, well performed and meaningful. I don't know where you go from here (kind of hard for Ice Cube to sing about the 'hood after his first $Mil check....), but I'll definitely check out the next thing you do. I LOVE "Reality Check"!

My buddy Alan and I are former enlisted and combat vets and we are leaving our current "cush" civilian jobs to go over there.     I've been a hard core hip-hop head for damn near 20 years. I have never heard an album that I would descirbe as more 'real'. Most rap artists are mere 'ghetto reporters'... but these guys are exposing such raw emotions and war realities that at times you truly can't believe what you are listening too, but make no mistakes, this is the real deal. Such an important album, it's historic. No one was making albums on location in Vietnam, WW2, Korea or even the first Desert Storm or whatever.
