3 LB. Universe's latest release (Hello Catatonic) is a collection of 10 hard-hitting tracks that are sure to appease even the most demanding rock aficionados. From the watertight energetic feel of "Formula One" to the guitar-driven pulse of "Colorblind", this CD is a gratifying listen from the onset. If you're partial to unapologetic hard rock with substance and dynamics, "Hello Catatonic" will make a quality addition to your CD collection.

3 LB. Universe is based out of Pittsburgh, PA. Originating in early 1998, the band consists of members Mike Cobak (guitar and backing vocals), Tom Minydzak (drums), Rich Cosgrove (bass), and Mark Larimer Jr. (vocals).

    This is one of the best CD's I've gotten in the past couple of months. All of 3LB Universe's stuff is better than most of the stuff they play on the radio and MTV.

    These guys write great songs. Outside of King's X, I can't think of another band that has such great heaviness, groove and melody working together as 3#U. All the songs are strong, and each has its own personality.

    Every song is great! This band is incapable of writing a cheesy chord change...the songs rock, the songs are hooky, the music is so cool...why oh why aren't songs from this cd on the radio everday? The cd sounds great loud and in the headphones because the recording quality is excellent!! I've listened to it over 100x and still love it!

    Good energy, great lyrics, hard guitar!!! It is a shot in the arm to music since music these days is generic, manufactured, and bland. Just good and great Rock that has a great feel to each song!

    I've seen 3 Lb. Universe twice now, and recently picked up "Hello Cat". I was not disappointed, and you won't be either. Hard hitting Les Paul guitars, PUMMELLING drums, some seriously solid bass, and a frontman who can ACTUALLY sing. You need this disc.

    You will be helplessly playing air guitar and bouncing off the walls when you hear the powerful and melodic music on Hello Catatonic. The vocals are incredible and the musicianship is top notch...an excellent quality recording. The songs are catchy and you will want to hear it again and again. One of my favorite albums ever.

    5 stars isn't enough to express how great this CD really is. Obviously a lot of work and talent went in to this one. Hope to see more releases from this band.
