notes

Peoria, Illinois, the famous mob stop on the Illinois River between Chicago and St. Louis, known for gambling, prostitution, and blue collar aggression, is a breeding ground for Shred-Metal, muscle cars, and Al Capone wannabe’s. Why? As the band Mudvayne put it, “There is nothing better to do in Peoria than to rehearse and write music,” which may demystify the reality of an active rock scene in the River City.

Enter 3AMproject, a 4 piece rock band of 22 year old cronies who bring straight-forward, drop-tuning riffs and ambient vocal melodies mashed with carefully executed drumming to form a fully developed, in your face sound that is guaranteed to knock you on your ass! Take the technical ability of Dream Theater, the hammering aggression of Tool, and the haunting melodies of Disturbed, and you have 3AMproject.

Sparked in 2002 by drummer Joey Gibbs and guitarist Bobby Seelye, and soon after joined by drummer-turned vocalist Denver Watters and bassist Bob Gibbs, 3AMproject was ignited. They have since entered two world-class recording studios to complete the recording of their debut album, “3AMproject”. The Chicago Recording Company sessions were self-produced, while the second and most recent sessions were held at Gravity Studios by Doug McBride, pioneer of “The Chicago Rock Sound” and known for his work with The Smashing Pumpkins, Veruca Salt, Cheap Trick, Frogpond, Enuff Z' Nuff, Tub Ring, Oh My God, and most recently Fall Out Boy.

Beginning with a string of “Shredfest” concerts, their debut as the opening act for the 40 Below Summer show, and the recent release of their self-titled album “3AMproject”, the band continues to dominate the Central Illinois music scene by winning the WIXO “99X” Nutcracker Christmas Concert Competition in front of a sold-out crowd of 1,000 at Peoria’s Expo Gardens and sharing the stage with Cynder. Thanks to a growing and dedicated fan base, the track “Help Yourself” is now in rotation on both WIXO 99X and WWCT 96.5 and the band quickly ripped through 100 CD’s and 60 T-Shirts at their CD release party on November 24, 2004 in the middle of the worst blizzard to hit Illinois in 80 years! 3AMproject looks forward to the summer of 2005 and wants to do nothing more than tour, tour, tour.

With their Berklee Grad manager Steve Soderstrom at the helm, known for his discovery the band Mudvayne in 1998, and his work at The Hit Factory, Sony Music Studios, NFL Films, North Forty Music, and Sigma Sound, coupled with the muscle of the renown Manhattan law firm Serling, Rooks and Ferrara, 3AMproject is undeniably in the hands of movers and shakers.

2007 will be a busy year for 3AMproject as they begin hubbing out of Peoria, with their sites on Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City, Rockford, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, Detroit, Iowa City, and every music showcase in the continental United States.

Ultimately 3AMproject aims to reach goals of signing a multi-record deal, and powering through the Active-Rock airwaves to become one of the hottest new rock acts to break the scene in 2007. A strong Music Industry Team, a rapidly growing fan-base, and talented hard working musicians will forge together to realize these goals. Listen to the album, experience one of the shows, and you will not soon forget 3AMproject!

  • Blown away by their talent

This is a solid showing that is better than the bland music I've heard on the radio in 2007. They have a lot of technical skill and they make the complex rhythms and meter changes sound easy. Someone needs to sign these guys.

Ahhh...Hmmmm $2.95 for the download of this CD is a treat for my wallet and a rip-off for this band. If you like Mudvayne this is a band for you! Although the CD does not sound as polished as the former the musichanship is fan-fucking-tastic. this is more complex then mudvayne's last CD. It has the clean and acid throat vocals with killer bass/drum work. For the price you can NOT go wrong...even at a regular CD price 3amproject is worth the cake. HAVE AT IT!!

this cd is really good.and is highly recommended if you are a local music supporter.

  • Great CD, solid mix of metal and melody. RIYL: sevendust, mudvayne
    author: Jamie Stark

Great CD from a Peoria, IL rock band that does a solid job of mixing metal and melody into surprisingly catchy set of songs. One of the most complete albums by an unsigned act I've come across. These guys should get a legitimate shot at stardom, if the bureaucracy of the music industry doesn't rear its ugly head first. Definitely recommended if you like Sevendust or Mudvayne.
