notes
The .357 String Band has spent the last four years criss- crossing America and Europe in half broken down vans, playing in filthy rock and roll clubs and honky tonks, sleeping on floors and couches, or if neccessary underneath the stars.
This album, their sophmore effort, reflects not only their hard-travelling, hard-living lifestyles, but also a refinement and musical maturity only hinted at on their first album.
Tightly written compositions and a lyrical depth not often achieved in the "Outlaw" genres make The .357 String Band a force to be reckoned with.
This ain't your granddaddy's bluegrass, this is STREETGRASS.

try to stand still
author: Aran BuzzasThis album is just damn fun to listen to. I dare you to not be impressed by the musicianship in this band, and just try to stand still when they crank it up for some speedgrass. Well worth the price. Don't miss a chance to see this band live as well!
Rick cooks up a mean yard bird
author: Daniel HandI used to live downstairs from Rick, the bassist, and I thoroughly enjoyed the free bass practice sessions. Both 'Ghost Town' and 'Fire and Hail' are delicious musically and lyrically from the pop of the tab to the bottom of the can. I'm definitely looking forward to .357 coming to Des Moines in October, the live shows are not to be missed! I'm glad I gave Rick a jump on his truck that one morning well over a year ago else I might never have been introduced to Streetgrass. Keep rockin' the hizzy and keep your souls in the music!

It's already been said below but they definitely somehow topped their debut album. Solid all the way from the first track to the end. BUT the best way to hear em is live and in person!
Hot Damn!!!!!
author: Rebecca HaugeThe .357 String Band withe their streetgrass has officially given all the Appalachian Bluegrass bands here in the south an official "in your face" with this album!! You'd never know these boys were from the midwest and I am proud to say as a Wisconisite now living in the Appalachian Mountains that The .357 String Band is from my home state! :)
Streetgrass Rules!!!
author: gary n. treatchThe boys from Milwaukee are back and kicking ass! If you like your grass blue, with a little punk attitude, this is the shit!
Holy Shit!!!
author: chrisWOW!!! Didn't think it could get any better than ghost town, but goddamn this CD is amazing. "Fire & Hail" is the best song I have heard in a long time. And Their version of The Those poor bastards song "Glory, Amen" is the icing on the cake. Just wish they'd come play England!
Fire & Hail
author: Ray VillanuevaThis CD is KILLER! I've NEVER heard anything like .357 String Band! I bought "Ghost Town" on a whim and was hooked from track one. Needless to say I was dying to get my hands on Fire & Hail...I wasn't disappointed! If you guys are reading this, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK and keep the "Throwdown and the hoedown" rolling!
They've Gone and Done it Again!
author: T. JuniorHell yeah! These fellers are back with a vengeance with another round of slammin' streetgrass! Buy this album!
MUST-HAVE!
author: RedGhost Town set the scene, Fire & Hail just seals the deal. The .357 String Band is an unbelievable group of good ol' boys who don't play your typical bluegrass, and as far as I'm concerned, Amen for that. Everything about them is original. From the speed, to the tent revival scenes displayed in each of the songs, .357 has done something many bands have only dreamed of, and that is appealing to a widely varied audience. Don't go to these shows expecting to see some grandpa's and grannies because you'll be dissapointed real quick. Mohawks, tattoos, beer and crowd surfing is a given when these 4 boys roll into your town. So do yourself a favor and buy both of the CD's, get a case of beer, invite your friends and have a drunken party because this music will have you dancin' til the next revival rolls through your town.
