notes

"Peter's Son" was named after Lewis Hurrell (2012)'s late father Peter Hurrell. Production started right at the time of the release of "vision" (2012's debut album) in late 2005 and has been in production for over a year. Even though Vision was a great first album, 2012 knows that Peters Son is going to blow it out of the water. The songs on the album are very different from one and other and that is exactly what 2012 has come to realize about the music. It's always different in one way or another, he can make a beautiful symphony with uplifting drum beats and melodies then turn around and make a dark masterpiece that sounds completely different from any of the other songs. That's the way he likes to create his albums. Most bands out there today sound somewhat the same on every song on an album. 2012 likes to break this cycle by creating a contrast between every track of an album, and even though the songs are different you can still notice that 2012 sound to them which is something not even Lewis Hurrell can explain, it simply happens.

  • Remarkable... Amazing
    author: Andrea Bosi

The first 2012 song I listened to was "Testify". It impressed me so deeply that I started to search the internet for information on their work. Without thinking twice I bought Peter's Son at CD Baby (allow me to say: people at CD Baby are spectacular). Peter's Son thrills me, what a wonderful surprise: it turned out to be the soundtrack of my life! Every musical note stirs my feelings and it's hard for me to concentrate in any other thing but the songs! This CD is a wonderful experience: it is unique! Congratulations Lewis and 2012! I can't stop listening your songs! I am waiting for the next work! Cheerio...

  • Love the warmth and diversity!
    author: Wilma van Rees

Surfing across the internet I found the music from 2012, and some songs to listen to. I immediately liked the sound and the diversity between the songs. Still curious for more than I could freely listen to, I ordered both “Vision” and “Peters son”, and I am pleased with both. I love the mixture of the sound of classical instruments like a violin and piano with electronic sounds. It sometimes feels like a complete orchestra, sometimes it is very subtle. A touch of different influences I can’t put my finger on, but all together it feels as a whole. It has a lot with emotions, sometimes warm and joyful, sometimes a bit sad and than quiet again. It is music I can think with, concentrate at my own creative process as a fine-art student. Thanks, I will look forward for more!

  • Relaxing, emotive and dreamy. Just amazing!
    author: Will Rossetti

This CD offers a surely unique mix of relaxing chords and melodies with mellow dance/trance beats. Each track creates a new dreamy image in your mind. From the first track to the last you are engulfed in a rich, phantasmagorical atmosphere you will continue to crave until you listen again. Lovers of Classical, Chill-out and Dance music will delight in listening to Peter's Son. It's influence, however; will stretch far and wide - beyond any particular genres or classifications.

  • good relaxing music
    author: jason

peters son is good, the first couple songs of the cd are really good and the last song fairytale is probably the best. The first songs seem to be more upbeat then the rest of the album and have a more techno sound to it. Fairtale is one of those songs I can just keep playing over and over again without getting old. I probably like this album a little better than the first one but both are good.
